Waka Huia is a 9 meter Sealegsâ„¢ amphibious RIB boat that drives into and out of the water so you can have a comfortable boating adventure and a unique nature experience.
You can spend 1-4 hours speeding around the harbor, stopping at secluded beaches for sightseeing historic spots, a swim or a stroll on the beach. Waka Huia does it in style for up to 11 passengers. Ideal for smaller more adventurous groups.

Examples of what you can do
Bespoke private toursCreate your bespoke private half day tour. We cover more than 50kms of Raglans ~140km harbour coastline. You will see plenty of “Pancake Rocks” (limestone). We support a 2 hour walk from Rangitoto point to mussel rock at the far north end of the beach and you don’t need to get your feet wet if you don’t want to. You might get splashed at the Okete waterfall if the tide lets us get there and you we will find the best simming spots for you. There's a number of stopping points of historical interest.
Big Day OutFor the big day out with all the toys you can take the Wahinemoe as the mothership and Wakahuia as the ultimate tender. Its the ultimate Raglan waterman adventure. Learn to E-foil, or be towed around. The upper reaches of the Raglan Harbour is a great place for water toy sports, including e-foils, wakeboard, kite surf and paddleboard. The ultimate beach sports day with friends, a BBQ and Beverages.

About the Raglan Harbour
With over 140 kms of coastline covering 3185ha in area the Whaingaroa (Raglan harbour) is a nationally recognised conservation area with more than 2 million trees planted over the past decade, a designated bird sanctuary with stunning geologic features ranging from limestone formations overlain by volcanic basalts, clays, black sand dunes and pumice stone. The skipper and crew are extremely knowledgeable and present our local history. Relax and be at one with the bird and marine life in their habitat.
Whaingaroa (Raglan) Harbour is an important habitat for resident, rare and threatened, and international migratory bird species. The critically endangered Maui’s Dolphin has been recorded in Raglan Harbour.
About the Waka Huia
While "Waka" means canoe, "Huia" is a treasured bird with twelve feathers in its tail fan. To our Maori ancestors, each tail feather of the Huia represented one of the twelve heavens. Maori kept the treasured Huia feathers in small, intricately carved wooden boxes with a figurehead adornment similar to those on boats. Accurately translated, "Waka Huia" means "treasure box".
Waka Huia is a 9m amphibious RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) from the New Zealand boat maker Sealegs. She has a 300hp outboard engine and can carry 11 passengers and 1 skipper.
The harbour is a site of cultural significance for Tainui iwi.
